Not a government website
Student Loan Ledger is an independent site. It is not run by, endorsed by or connected to the U.S. Department of Education, Federal Student Aid, StudentAid.gov, any federal loan servicer or the Internal Revenue Service, and it does not enroll anyone in a plan. The calculators apply the law, the regulations and the published rates to the figures you enter. Your servicer may use another tax year, count loans you did not list or apply a rule not modeled here; the payment on its notice is the one you owe. Method and limits: method page.
Liability
Every figure is read on an official document and every engine is tested before each release, but errors cannot be ruled out and repayment rules changed several times between 2024 and 2026. The publisher is not liable for a decision taken on an estimate alone. Please report errors through the contact page.
Intellectual property
Texts, design and code belong to the publisher; short quotations with a link are welcome. Laws, regulations and federal notices quoted or summarized remain public records.
Embedding
The plan comparator and the SAI calculator may be embedded for free with their credit link visible: see the embed page.
Personal data
The site sets no cookie and the publisher keeps no data entered in the calculators. Details: privacy policy and cookies page.
Reporting unlawful content
Write to contact@studentloanledger.com with the address of the page.
Governing law
French law applies; failing an amicable settlement, the courts of France have jurisdiction. Updated: 2026-10-11.
Estimate only: these figures apply the 2025 law, the 2026 regulations and the published rates to the numbers you enter. Your loan servicer and the Department of Education set your actual payment, after checking your loans, income and family.
